デレク・ベイリーとのフリー・インプロヴィゼーションに始まり、コーネリアス・カーデュ、ジョン・ケージ、モートン・フェルドマンなど英米実験音楽の巨匠達の元で作曲を学んだ英国実験音楽を代表する作曲家Gavin Bryarsを代表する永遠のアンビエント古典マスターピース大名曲。
タイタニックが沈没するときに実際に演奏されていたという賛美歌を元に、悲劇へのレクイエムとして作曲されたもので、控えめな弦楽器と不確定な要素の集合体を通して、寂しくも不気味な乗客の体験を雄弁に再現した、デレク・ベイリー、マイケル・ナイマン、ジョン・ホワイトをフィーチャーした、6弦アンサンブルに様々な音が静謐にコラージされた、荘厳で哀しく美しく悲しい24分28秒の現代音楽アンビエントの金字塔。細野晴臣さんの祖父が日本人唯一の乗船者として乗船されていたというエピソードでも有名な１曲。荒廃したロンドンの様子を収めたドキュメンタリーでホームレスが口ずさんでいた宗教歌をテープループさせて静謐なるオーケストレーションをつけた空気の張り詰めた神々しくもどこか物悲しく切ない25分52秒の名曲「Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet 」（sample２）も永遠。
